Dumbo Movie Full 2019

Film Dumbo menjadi satu dari sekian banyak film remake Disney yang dibuat versi live action tahun ini. Digarap oleh Tim Burton, sutradara yang kerap menayangkan film dengan atmosfer mistik dan magic. Bisa dibilang, film ini udah memikat meski lihat cuplikannya aja.

Menceritakan Dumbo, bayi gajah yang memiliki telinga lebar. Kehadirannya enggak diterima dalam kelompok sirkus, hingga semuanya berubah pas ada dua anak manusia yang membantunya percaya diri. Konflik dirinya belum selesai, Dumbo dipisahkan oleh ibunya. Berhasilkah Dumbo dan ibunya kembali bersatu?

Sudah sepatutnya, sutradara yang memulai rangkaian remake live action Disney ini diharapkan akan memberikan yang terbaik. Remake yang dilakukan Tim Burton untuk Alice in Wonderland (2010) memberi petunjuk kepada Disney tentang prediksi Box Office dari remake film kartun kesayangan mereka. Ya, kita bisa lihat dari deretan film kartun Disney versi live action tahun ini.
Kalau dilihat dari sinopsis, film ini seakan ingin mempertahankan konsep utama dalam versi animasi Dumbo (1941). Burton telah membuat kisah yang familier jadi tampak baru. Sayangnya, Burton kebingungan untuk menampilkan kisah imajinasi yang relate jika ditonton audiens saat ini. Naskah yang dibuat oleh Ehren Kruger ini tampak malu memaksakan status penjahat dan pahlawan pada manusia.

Film Dumbo bukan termasuk remake film yang bagus, tapi bukan berarti enggak patut ditonton. Soalnya, ada beberapa elemen yang akan ngasih pengalaman kalian pas nonton jadi enggan bangun dari duduk. Salah satu faktornya, dari desain produksi yang cantik dan elegan.
Harus diakui, film ini kurang memorable. Namun, film ini hadir dengan suasana blockbuster tulus. Hampir berhasil menggaet penasaran penonton dengan pertanyaan “seperti apa live action film Dumbo?” Ada keingintahuan bagi pengemar lama dan faktor nostalgia, dikombinasikan dengan fakta bahwa orang yang belum pernah melihat film aslinya juga ingin tahu karakternya. Di samping karena Dumbo telah hidup dalam budaya pop selama ini.

Parents need to know that Dumbo is director Tim Burton's live-action take on Disney's 1941 animated classic about everyone's favorite flying elephant. This version -- which stars Colin Farrell, Michael Keaton, and Danny DeVito -- keeps the original's spirit while expanding on its storyline and kicking things up in the scariness department thanks to Burton's signature intensity. The movie's vibrant, colorful world is peppered with dark, creepy sequences/elements, including a cruel animal handler, a character who's crushed to death by a collapsing circus tent, armed henchmen who pursue both animals and children, characters in peril/falling from heights, and an amusement park attraction that's aptly named Nightmare Island. There are also some very sad parts, like when Mrs. Jumbo is separated from baby Dumbo, which might prove upsetting for younger/more sensitive viewers and foster and/or adoptive families. Characters also discuss loss (the main kid characters' mom died from influenza). Language is minimal ("hell" and one incomplete "s--t" are about it), and this version of the film thankfully doesn't have the racially stereotyped crow characters or a drunk, hallucinating Dumbo. And it has themes of teamwork, compassion, and empathy and promotes the idea that our differences help make us special.

Dumbo dengan telinga besar dan wajah lugu membuat siapa pun setuju bahwa gajah tersebut menggemaskan. Seharusnya, Dumbo dan kawanan hewan sirkus lainnya jadi bintang di film ini, seperti yang tergambar di judul. Namun, Dumbo hanya dijadikan pemeran aktif, bukan pemeran utama. Akhirnya, Dumbo seperti gajah yang enggak memiliki kepribadian, penonton justru disuguhkan karakter manusia.
Burton tampaknya terjebak di antara kesungguhan Colin Farrell sebagai Holt Farrier, seorang penunggang kuda, tentara Perang Dunia I, dan merawat kedua anaknya. Kemudian, Danny DeVito sebagai Medici, seorang pemilik sirkus yang terombang-ambing di antara dua emosi: menggelegar dan bingung.

Performa Keaton sebagai Vandevere sebagai pengecut dan penjahat juga bias. Eva Green sebagai Colette, aktris asal Perancis dengan aura simpatik yang disia-siakan. Lalu, para pemain sirkus Medici lainnya hampir enggak memiliki karakter. Padahal, kalau memang Burton ingin menonjolkan manusia di film Dumbo, keberadaan mereka dibutuhkan, seperti di The Greatest Showman (2017).
Enggak boleh disalahkan, bisa jadi, Burton menggunakan karakter-karakter manusia untuk memperkuat kisahnya. Enggak ada perasaan terobsesi dalam film Dumbo. Ya, Burton hanya harus lebih menyelam jauh lebih dalam ke dunia Masokisme-Ekspresionis sirkus di film Dumbo asli.

Untuk kira-kira setengah jam pertama, Burton tampaknya secara otomatis memperkenalkan karakter dan mengatur adegan kuno dengan palet pucat dunia lain. Cerita berlatar 1919 di sirkus turun-temurun yang dimiliki oleh Max Medici, nuansa jadul lewat kostum, benda, dan warna tergambar dengan tulus.
Visual mistik dan magical memberikan perasaan mengesankan. Namun enggak berlangsung lama, visual gelap mulai hadir ketika sirkus dibawa ke New York. Soal realisme dunia sirkus, film Dumbo bisa menciptakan dunia yang enggak dibuat-buat. Lalu soal scoring, kalian enggak perlu mengharapkan ada lagu-lagu seperti di The Greatest Showman, ya.

Ostracized from the rest of the circus animals, poor Dumbo the elephant is separated from his mother, who is chained up in a separate cage after trying to defend her child. Only brash-but-lovable Timothy Mouse offers the hand of friendship to Dumbo, encouraging the pouty pachyderm to exploit his "different" qualities for fame and fortune.

Film Dumbo jadi urutan wajib untuk menyambut film-film live action Disney selanjutnya. Kini saatnya Disney akan mengembalikan nostalgia masa kecil lewat film remake-nya. Termasuk Dumbo, meski lebih memorable film animasinya, versi live action ini telah mengembalikan memori masa kecil kita melihat gajah terbang.
Dumbo jadi film tentang sirkus yang diproduksi oleh Disney yang tampaknya membenci sirkus dan Disney. Meskipun hal ini menyenangkan, tetapi sebaliknya terlihat bias dan enggak jujur. Ya, terkadang ada hal yang cukup disimpan di tempat tertentu, seperti Dumbo di versi animasinya. Terlepas dari isu kritik terhadap Disney, film ini tetap setia pada pesan merangkul orang lain yang berbeda dari kita.

Dumbo Review
During Disney’s long history of animated films, the studio has always pushed the envelope of what animated films were capable of. This is especially true during Disney’s Golden Age when they were pioneering the medium. While all of the movies from the time period are considered classics, Dumbo stands out among them as a truly unique and touching film.

Even among Disney’s early films, Dumbo‘s animation is unique. Mostly due to the budget constraints of the film, the animation is very simplistic compared to movies like Pinocchio or Bambi. The backgrounds are plain. By that I mean they are straightforward and uncomplicated. You can glean over them quickly and take in every detail with ease. Vibrant watercolors make them pop, adding a depth to the uncluttered arrangements.

Having not seen this movie for several years, I forgot how musical it is. Right from the start, it has you tapping your foot. “Casey Junior” screams classic Americana. “Baby Mine,” nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song at the 14^th Academy Awards in 1942, brings a surge of emotion, especially when combined with the affectionate animation that occurs while it’s playing. “When I See an Elephant Fly” offers some of the greatest wordplay in any early Disney film. Finally, I can’t talk about the music in Dumbo without bringing up “Pink Elephants on Parade.” Both musically and visually there is a lot going on. The song itself jumps around in temp and volume and the animation is one of the weirdest, yet most unique, pieces of animation I have ever seen. However, it is a fantastic display of what animation can do. It truly is a one-of-a-kind sequence, even all these years later.

Everyone can relate to Dumbo and his story. He is a young elephant who gets mocked for having exceptionally large ears. That struggle with dealing with getting ridiculed happens to many people. Since Dumbo never speaks throughout the entire film, it is easy for the viewer to project themselves onto Dumbo and use him as a vehicle to overcome their own hardships. Dumbo meets Timothy Mouse (Edward Brophy), who looks past his large ears and sees him as a friend, not some weirdo. With Timothy’s help, Dumbo learns to use what many made fun of him about, what made him an outcast, and learns how to channel it into his greatest strength and using it to positively set him apart from the other elephants. He also learned to believe in himself and have the confidence to embrace his differences. This message is universal, and is a particularly powerful message for kids. This message is why this film has lived on for over seven decades. Everyone has something unique about them and should be celebrated, not scorned, and they should be confident in themselves to share it.
I thought Dumbo was GREAT  What makes this film such fun experience is that it has a little bit of everything. It makes you smile, it makes you cry, and it makes you sing and dance. Dumbo is classic Disney at its best. It has endured for over 70 years and I have no doubt it will endure for another 70 more.
